The City of Minneapolis proposes to reconnect 5th Street South between 11th Avenue South and 15th Avenue South as a local multimodal connection that will include an off-street bicycle facility, and an enhanced pedestrian walkway.

Construction schedule

Phase 1 - 2017 (August to December 2017) -- East side of the 5th Street Bridge, no impact to Vehicular traffic- Completed
Phase 2 -2018 - West of the 5th Street Bridge, minor impact to traffic, Bridge remains closed; Detour signs for Bikes/Peds are in place

Phase 2 Construction is anticipated to be completed mid-summer 2018.
