North Commons Park Sidewalk Gap
The City of Minneapolis completed a sidewalk gap in North Commons Park in the Near North and Willard-Hay neighborhoods as part of the Sidewalk Gap Program.
Project background & scope
Public Works identified a sidewalk gap in North Commons Park in the Near North and Willard-Hay neighborhoods as part of the Sidewalk Gap Program. The objective of this program was to fill gaps in the sidewalk network as identified in the Minneapolis Pedestrian Master Plan. A connected and continuous sidewalk network better accommodates the needs of all pedestrians.
The City of Minneapolis evaluated sidewalk gaps at the following locations:
- Morgan Ave N (18th Ave N – 16th Ave N)
- 16th Ave N (Logan Ave N – James Ave N)
The proposed project occurred over the course of the 2019 construction season. The scope of the project included constructing sidewalks with ADA ramps at impacted intersections.
There were no special assessments to property owners as a part of this project.
