Blaisdell Avenue South Bikeway

In 2019, the City of Minneapolis converted a standard bike lane into a protected bikeway on Blaisdell Ave from Franklin Ave to 29th St W.

Goals

The goals of this bikeway project include:

  • Enhance comfort and predictability of all users
  • Support existing and future bicycle demand
  • Improve bicycle network connectivity
  • Provide bicycle access to destinations

Schedule

July - October 2018: Public Works will collect corridor data and initiate a community engagement process.

November - December 2018: Public Works will develop a layout concept for a bikeway on the corridor.

February 2019: Public Works to provide a design recommendation.

Summer 2019: Construction of the bikeway.
