With the events of the past week and the  trial of Derek Chauvin coming to an end, the Minneapolis Department of Civil Rights recognizes the deep and profound impact the last year has had on many in our community, including within our own department. This is particularly true for our BIPoC employees, many of whom are residents. We remain as committed as ever to completing the people’s work while also recognizing that as members of this community, our staff are struggling.  As a department we are working to prioritize the wellbeing of each employee to ensure their mental and spiritual health. We ask for patience and understanding as we navigate the days and weeks ahead alongside you.
