The City of Minneapolis has a zero tolerance policy for firearms and dangerous weapons in the workplace.

Applies To
  • Employees including any person who performs services for the City of Minneapolis, either compensated or uncompensated
  • Elected and appointed officials

This policy does not apply to:

  • Employees of the Police Department, both sworn and civilian, when they carry a firearm or dangerous weapon in the course and scope of their employment with the City of Minneapolis
  • Independent contractors
