Employee Assistance Program

Employee benefits include access to an Employee Assistance Program (EAP) which provides confidential services to help you and/or your family members deal with a wide a array of issues.

  •  A 30-minute legal consultation at no cost (in person or over the phone). If you decide to use an attorney, you’ll get a 25% discount.

  • Child care referrals and support to help take care of elderly parents.
  • Community resources. 

The Employee Assistance Program (EAP) is offered through Medica and is available to all City of Minneapolis employees.  It is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week and services are available by phone, online, or through in-person appointments.

Onsite EAP Provider

City employees can now get support through new Employee Assistance Program services.  EAP provider, Debra Grayson, will be available to City employees 8 hours per week.  These services are initially virtual, but appointments eventually will become available onsite. 
 
Debra is a licensed marriage and family therapist, supervisor, author and trainer. She has over 30 years of experience working with couples, families, groups and businesses and a master’s in marriage and family therapy. Her services help to educate, support and strengthen family, marital, personal and organizational

Debra will be available for City employees on Tuesdays between 11 a.m. and 4 p.m. and Thursdays between 8 a.m. and 1 p.m. Appointments are virtual only at this point and can be either over video or the phone.
