About
In October 2011, Minneapolis City Council passed a healthy food policy to support the health and wellness of City employees by ensuring the availability of healthy options in vending machines and cafeterias located in City buildings and at city-sponsored meetings. The development of this policy resulted from a 2010 wellness survey indicating that 70% of respondents supported the establishment of healthy food guidelines. The policy also promotes the City’s own goals around healthy choices, while demonstrating a commitment to the health of all City partners, contractors, and clients.
