Project details
Streets are evaluated for their selection based on ride and condition of the roadway surface/section and the condition of the curb and gutter. The Parkway Paving Program was developed by the City Council and City Engineer, with significant input from the Minneapolis Park and Recreation Board (MPRB) and their staff, with the intent of maintaining the quality of the parkway system.
Project location:
King's Highway between 36th and 42nd Street West.
Construction start date:
Construction is scheduled to begin July 24th, 2017.

Project updates
October 18, 2017: Milling and paving on the project is complete. Transverse sawing for asphalt crack control will take place later this fall.
September 20, 2017: Phases 1-5 are complete
August 11, 2017: Phases 1-3 are complete.
August 4, 2017: Miscellaneous curb and gutter replacement is in progress, manhole sawing is in progress, manhole lowering will begin August 11, 2017 on 46th Street and the south end of Kings Highway; to be followed by asphalt milling and paving.
August 18, 2017: Resurfacing of 42nd street is complete. Crews will be working on East bound 46th street between lake Harriet Parkway and Dupont on Saturday 8/18 raising manholes, and the final layer of asphalt is scheduled to be placed on Tuesday after which 46th street will be complete.
August 21 - 25, 2017: Westbound 46th street between Dupont and Lake Harriet Boulevard will be closed.
August 21, 2017: Southbound King's Highway will be closed to thru traffic at 45th street. Local access only. There will be short term closures on Southbound King's Highway at 46th street until a temporary ramp can be built. Temporary closures will remain in effect for the week.
