Project details
Project description
The City of Minneapolis proposes to reconstruct 46th Avenue South between Godfrey Parkway and 46th Street East. The existing street is in poor condition, with heavy asphalt patching and deteriorated curb. This one block project is scheduled to occur within the 2017 construction season and will consist of improvements to the roadway, sidewalk and boulevard space. City staff held two meetings with the Longfellow Neighborhood Association in early 2016, and attended both the Pedestrian and Bicycle Advisory Committees in late 2015. Feedback from these meetings helped inform the preliminary project layout shown below. City staff expect to bring this preliminary layout to City Council in April for approval. More detailed design is expected to take place later in 2016 and into 2017.
Project location
The portion of 46th Avenue South to be reconstructed is between Godfrey Parkway and 46th Street East. The southern half of this segment lies within Minnehaha Park.
