The Civil Division has two teams that provide legal services:

The Client Services Team

This team provides legal help and advice to the City’s elected officials, boards, and departments. We:

• Draft City ordinances and offer advice on policies
• Negotiate and draft development agreements
• Give advice on important rights and protections

The Litigation Team

This team represents the City of Minneapolis in court and other hearings to:

• Hold landlords responsible
• Defend City laws and policies
• Support Minneapolis and its residents
