Availability of the environmental assessment worksheet (EAW)

Abbott Northwestern Hospital (ANW) is proposing to construct the Transportation Hub which will be located south of existing Ramp 6 near the intersection of Chicago Avenue and East 28th Street in Minneapolis, Hennepin County, MN. The Site is bound by Ramp 6 to the north, Chicago Avenue to the west, the Midtown Greenway to the south, and ANW’s existing Tenth Avenue Facility to the east. The Transportation Hub project consists of the construction of an eight-level (approximately 1,420 parking stalls) parking structure, approximately 2,400 square feet of retail/office space, a 2-level vertical expansion of existing Ramp 6 (approximately 445 parking stalls), and possible interior improvements to the bicycle storage facility located adjacent to the existing Freewheel Bike space located at the Midtown Greenway.

Copies of the EAW will be available for review at the downtown Minneapolis Central Library located at 300 Nicollet Mall. Notice will be published in the EQB Monitor on Monday, August 17, 2020. Public comments on the EAW must be made within the 30-day comment period, which ends at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday, September 16, 2020. It is anticipated that the BIZ Committee at its regular meeting on Tuesday, October 6, 2020, or at a subsequent meeting, will receive a report and recommendation from City staff and consider the adequacy of this EAW and the need for an Environmental Impact Statement for this proposal. The City Council will act on the recommendation of this Committee at a subsequent meeting on Friday, October 16, 2020.

Copies of this EAW can also be provided to individuals by email. For further information or to submit comments on the EAW, contact Hilary Dvorak.
