  • Addressing complaints about a property owner, such as:
    • Neglect
    • Retaliation
  • Lessening the impact of displacement on renters
  • Working with community and City partners to find the best solution to renting issues

View rental housing as an important community resource

  • Keep units safe by enforcing the:
    • Housing and Maintenance Code
    • State Fire Codes
  • Aim to rehab properties on the Vacant Building Registry
  • Review structural fires
  • Reduce nuisance issues in neighborhoods
  • Inspect rental units in-person and virtually with owners and renters

Issue commercial permits, inspect and reduce fire hazards
