About the Project

Curb-less street project on Girard Avenue with 3 bioretention basins. These basins collect and filter stormwater runoff that flows from the road and walkways. 

  • Type of Green Infrastructure: Bioretention Basins 
  • Completion Date: 2020 
  • Functions: 
    • Removes trash and pollutants from the water 
    • Reduce the flows to the Mississippi River 
    • Collects rainwater from the roads, sidewalks, and buildings 
    • Adds native plants and trees and creates habitat 
    • Reduces hardcover and greens the city
    • Creates a community amenity
