Solid Waste & Recycling

We pick up garbage, recycling and more from residential properties in the City. We also offer community cleanup programs and run a drop-off site.

Customers and services

 

Our customers include

  • 107,000 residential dwelling units (1-4 unit buildings)
  • Approximately 200 larger residential or commercial properties
  • Neighborhood parks
  • City buildings

Collection services

  • Garbage (weekly)
  • Recycling (every other week)
  • Organics recycling (weekly)
  • Large items (weekly / every other week)
  • Yard waste (weekly, mid-April through mid-November)

In addition to the collection services identified above, our customers get vouchers to bring extra garbage, large items, scrap metal, building materials and tires to our South Transfer Station. 

We also

  • Offer community cleanup programs for you to help us keep the city clean
  • Pick up 500 litter containers placed at bus shelters and throughout the city
  • Track and remove graffiti throughout the city
  • Offer container rentals for events
