Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA) Regional and Local Plans

The WIOA Regional and Local plans describe employment and training services in Minneapolis.

Overview

The City of Minneapolis is the local workforce development area (WDA) #10. The metropolitan area is regional WDA #4. Each WDA must submit plans to the Governor describing their workforce development services. The federal Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA) guides the required plans.

Timeline

  • Comments: The City accepts comments through April 30, 2024.
  • Business, Housing, and Zoning Committee: The BHZ Committee will consider approving submission of the plan to State of Minnesota Department of Employment and Economic Development on May 14, 2024.
  • City Council: The City Council will consider approving submission of the plan to State of Minnesota Department of Employment and Economic Development on May 23, 2024.
