Map of where cannabis dispensaries can open
See a map of where cannabis dispensaries are allowed in the city.
About this map
Zoning rules for cannabis businesses include where cannabis businesses can open.
Cannabis dispensaries must be
- At least 300 feet from K-12 schools
- Located in a commercial or industrial area that is at least 3 acres big and allows a dispensary.
The map shows locations that:
- Cover three connected acres
- 300 ft spacing from K-12 schools
Applicants should not rely on this map alone for land use verification. The map may not reflect the most current zoning information. Call 311 to talk to a planner about zoning rules and to find out if a location allows a cannabis business.
Understanding the map
- Colored parcels: If a parcel is red, blue, or purple, it is zoned correctly for a dispensary. These lots are in a commercial or industrial area. They cover three connected acres and allows a dispensary.
- Grey parcels: parcels shown in grey do not currently allow a dispensary.
- Blue buffers: The blue areas around schools show that dispensaries must be at least 300 feet away from K-12 schools.
- Blue buffer areas do not allow dispensaries.
- If any portion of a parcel is in the blue buffer area, that entire parcel is not eligible for a dispensary.
Search tips
Search for an address to learn more about the location and its surrounding area. If you don't know the address, or have a specific location in mind, you can click an area on the map.
Other cannabis businesses
The map only shows locations permitting dispensaries. It does not show where businesses like growing or manufacturing can go.
The Cannabis Business Zoning Regulations Guide (coming soon!) explains zoning rules for all cannabis businesses. You can find all zoning rules in the Minneapolis Zoning Code.
