Condo registration and renewal

Condominiums in Minneapolis must be registered and annually renewed.

Owners of cooperatives and owner-occupied townhouses must register their buildings with the City. This does not include leasehold cooperatives.

Depending on the use of the condo or unit, you may need additional registrations.

Rental units within the condo must have a rental license.
Owners of units used for short-term rental (such as AirBnB, VRBO, etc.) must register with the City.

You must register your condo with us every year.
Post the registration certificate in a public area, such as a hallway, corridor or lobby.
Within 14 days, update your registration any time there are changes to the:
- Name
- Addresses
- Or other information on your registration
