Using navigation
We explain the guidelines for adding pages to navigation.
Guidelines
Our site visitors use the navigation drop-downs to quickly:
- Find the primary, most important, web pages in that topic area

When to include a page in navigation
- Only pages containing primary content should appear in navigation. Topic overview pages are a good example of a page that can appear in navigation.
- In each branch of the navigation drop-down:
- Include at least two pages
- Ideally include three to seven pages
- Try not to include more than seven pages
- Never include more than 12 pages
- Only direct child pages in the topic area will be included here.
How to add a page to navigation
To add a page to navigation:
- In the T4 site structure, click the page name.
- On the General tab, check the Show in navigation box.
