Department page guidelines
All department pages (on www and www2) must have the following elements:
- Page header and summary with contact link
- Director's name, title and photo, if available
- Contact [department name] link that links to contact block at the bottom of the page
- Explore this section group heading with at least two pages under the heading
- What we do (describes what the department does, who works there or both)
- (At least one other page about the department)
- Contact us heading
- Appropriate contact block
The department has two options if it wants to share information about one or more of its divisions:
- If creating multiple division pages, add a Divisions group heading below the Explore this section. Display division pages below this heading. See Figure 1 - Public Works department.
- If creating one division page that briefly descirbes or lists the divisions, create a Divisions page and display it under Explore this section. It should be the section tile to appear under Explore this section. The first tile is What we do. See Figure 2 - Regulatory Services department.
Optional page elements
Department pages can also contain one or more of the following content types:
- Inline alert
- Use this to share important limited-time information about the department).
- This content type appears above Explore this section.
- List of links in tiles or Multicolumn content
- Use this to share Related links or important programs or projects led by the department.
- This content type appears below Explore this section (and Divisions, if the page has a Divisions group heading).
- Promotion
- Use this to promote an important program or other topic from the department.
- Do not use this to link to a child page that already appears directly under Explore this section or Divisions.
- This content type appears below Explore this section (and Divisions, if the page has a Divisions group heading). It can appear above or below the List of links in tiles or Multicolumn content, if the page has either of these.
