Using inline alerts
We explain how to add an inline alert to a page.
Add an inline alert
An inline alert is a limited-time notice you can add to the body of a page to share important information with site visitors.
Types of inline alerts
We have three types of inline alerts (each of which appear on a colored background):
- Notice (green) - Example: Use this to announce that your department and other City offices will be closed for an upcoming holiday.
- Warning (yellow) - Example: Use this to announce a deadline, e.g., "Apply for xxx program before March 1. Application period closes after March 1."
- Emergency (red) - Example: Use this to announce an unexpected issue or closure, e.g., "The 311 call center phone line is down due to a power outage."
In most cases, you will likely use the notice inline alert.
