Rental Property Owners/Managers Workshop: Online

The City provides a training for rental property owners and managers. It's called the Rental Property Owners/Managers Workshop (RPOW).

You can take RPOW online at your own pace. This way you can learn about rental licensing and resources whenever works best for you.

The on-demand training covers:

  • Rental license and renewal requirements
  • Your property's tier and fee level
  • Your responsibilities
  • The rental license inspection process
  • Common code violations
  • What happens after your inspection

Completing this training and a follow-up survey qualifies you for:

  • A $250 discount on the conversion fee for new rental licenses; this is valid for five years on any conversion fees
  • A $250 refund on any conversion fees paid in the past two year, as long as you have proof you attended

RPOW is available in multiple languages. Select one of the links below to take the training.

Rental Property Owners/Managers Workshop: In-person

We occasionally host in-person workshops so you can ask Inspectors questions. These workshops cover the same content as the online workshop.

You must register for in-person trainings at least seven days before they happen. If we do not have at least 10 people signed up, we'll cancel and ask you to register for a different date.

Coming soon: 2025 dates and registration link for in-person trainings.
