Soil erosion permits

An erosion control permit is required for any land disturbance activity in excess of 500 square feet (or 5 cubic yards).

What to know

You must get an erosion control permit if your project will disturb more than 500 square feet (five cubic yards) of soil.

You must develop an erosion control plan if your project will disturb more than 5,000 square feet (500 cubic yards) of soil.
Erosion control plans require approval from our Public Works department.
