Moving permit

You must have a permit to move any building into or within the City.

What to know

A moving permit is required when moving any building:

  • From outside Minneapolis into the City.
  • From one property address to another within the City.

Moving permits are only issued to contractors licensed by the Minnesota Department of Transportation (DOT).
