Plan review

Plan review staff examine and approve construction plans before the City issues a permit.

What we do

Our staff:

  • Evaluates proposed construction and confirm compliance with the building code.
  • Identifies potential problems during the plan review. It's easier to correct problems early in the process rather than during construction.
  • Reviews plans for conformance to the State of Minnesota building code before the City issues a permit.
  • Answers questions about the code and how it applies to specific projects.
