You can find license information for taxicabs.

Definition

A taxicab:

  • Transports passengers for a fee
  • Can seat seven or fewer people

A wheelchair accessible taxicab:

  • Is a minivan or similar vehicle
  • Is adapted for people who use wheelchairs
  • Prioritizes calls for service from individuals who use wheelchairs

Limousines do not need this license.

Requirements

Vehicle inspections

Your taxicab must pass an inspection at an authorized garage:

  • Before you can get a Minneapolis license
  • Every year before renewing your license.

A mechanic will give you a taxi inspection report. Bring this to the Business Licenses office.
