Phase 1

The City chose Trellis to lead Phase 1 of the project after a competitive proposal process. Trellis is a nonprofit developer based in Minneapolis. Phase 1 will be built on the southeast corner of the old Kmart site at Nicollet and Lake.

What's next

Next, the development team will work to secure financing and update the project design, plans, and cost estimates. It will take about three to five years to fund Phase 1 and begin construction. Future phases will start after Phase 1 is underway.

We are re-opening Nicollet Avenue between Lake Street and Cecil Newman Lane.
