Community Connections Conference
Information and updates about the annual Community Connections Conference.
I want to
Program
This year will feature:
- Over 100 booths from the City of Minneapolis and other community groups
- Workshops and community dialogues on important topics
- Performances from local artists
- Free lunch
- A fun scavenger hunt side quest
- Opportunities to connect with City leaders
Theme
Our theme this year is “Participation is Power: Speak, Act, Grow.”
We invite you to
- Speak: Weigh in on important decisions
- Act: Vote, join neighborhood groups or serve on City boards
- Grow: Learn new things to improve your community, neighborhood and life
Why
We believe:
- All communities should feel welcome in City spaces
- It should be easy for everyone to get involved and influence important decisions
- All communities should get information about programs and policies in language they understand
We want to bring in people who are often underrepresented in local decision-making to:
- Meet City leaders in a friendly, welcoming space
- Celebrate successes and connect
- Learn about new opportunities to get involved
- Gain new skills and resources
