Explosives and hazardous materials

You must have a permit to store, use or handle hazardous materials.

Definition of hazardous materials

Hazard materials include: 

  • Aerosols
  • Blasting and combustible fibers
  • Compressed gases and corrosive materials
  • Cryogenic (or deep-freezing) fluids
  • Cutting, dipping and spray finishing
  • Explosives and fireworks
  • Flammable gases, liquids and solids
  • Highly toxic materials and liquified petroleum gases
  • Organic peroxides, oxidizers and pyrophoric materials
  • Pyroxylin plastics and stationary battery systems
  • Unstable materials and water reactive solids

Requirements

You must have a hazardous materials permit for any hazardous or explosive materials.
