Liquor caterers in Minneapolis need a license.

Definition

Liquor caterers serve food and alcohol at private events. The events have a predetermined guest list.  

Event examples include:

  • Receptions 
  • Parties  
  • Conferences 
  • Weddings       
  • Trade shows 

You must currently have the following:  

  • State of Minnesota liquor catering permit
  • On-sale liquor or on-sale wine license
  • Food catering license

Please allow at least 30 days for approval of your liquor catering permit.

Requirements  

You must:

  • Send a Liquor Catering Notification form to Business Licenses at least two full business days before each event. We charge an extra 50% late fee for forms we receive less than two full business days before your event.
