Residential block events

We require a permit for any event that closes a residential street or alley.

Definition

A residential block event is temporary gathering of people that:

Held in a residential area
Is open to the public
May be free or have a charge
Held on a blocked part of one or more contiguous blocks of a single street or alley within the city

Requirements

Dates and hours

Block events in residential districts may only be held between 10:00 AM and 10:00 PM, including set-up time.

Street closure

You must provide and pay for barricades and traffic control as part of an approved traffic control and management plan.

Security

You must provide and pay for security personnel according to an approved security plan.

Cleanup

You must clean up, remove, and dispose of all litter, garbage, and recyclable items that are part of your event according to an approved waste and recycling plan.

What to know

Fees

The cost of a residential block event permit is $50.
The $50 fee is waived for National Night Out (NNO).

Deadline

Residential block event permits must be submitted at least five (5) business days before the date of the event.
Late applications will not be accepted.
