Charter Amendment Ballot Questions
Special Municipal Elections (2020-00438)
"Shall the Minneapolis City Charter be amended to comply with Minnesota election law related to uniform dates for special municipal elections and to provide that a special election be held on a legal election day under Minnesota law that is more than 90 days from a vacancy in the office of Mayor or Council Member?"
Redistricting of Wards and Park Districts (2020-00650)
"Shall the Minneapolis City Charter be amended to allow ward and park district boundaries to be reestablished in a year ending in 1 and to allow the use of those new boundaries for elections in that same year; to allow ward and park district boundaries to be modified after the legislature has been redistricted to establish City precinct boundaries; to provide that an election for a Council Member office required by Minnesota law in a year ending in 2 or 3 after a redistricting shall be for a single 2-year term; and to clarify that a regular election means a regular general election?"
Notice of Absentee Ballot Board Operations
For the November 3, 2020, General Election, the Minneapolis Absentee Ballot Board will meet daily during normal business hours, 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. beginning October 21 and continuing through November 10. The Absentee Ballot Board will be open additional hours on Saturdays, October 24 and 31, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., and Sundays, October 25 and November 1, from Noon to 5 p.m. On Election Day, Tuesday, November 3, the Board will be open from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m.
The entire proceedings of the Absentee Ballot Board will be live streamed for public access and monitoring via the City's Youtube Channel.
Two observers designated by each of the major political parties may attend the proceedings of the Absentee Ballot Board in person. Observers must provide identification by name and political party affiliation before being admitted and are required to comply with all instructions and safety protocols while in attendance.
Absentee Ballot Board operations will be conducted at the Minneapolis Convention Center located at 1301 2nd Ave S.
November 3, 2020 - General Election - Special School District No. 1
Notice to all voters qualified to vote in the General Election to be held from 7:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. for the purpose of electing one School Board Member at large and School Board Member for Districts 2, 4, and 6.
