To present a cohesive image of the City and protect the way people think and feel about the organization, it is essential that the logo and graphics are used consistently and as stated in these standards.

Using defined graphic standards for reports ensures visual consistency across deliverables and helps improve the City brand.

City writing style manual

The writing style manual is a reference guide for employees to use with all written materials: web pages, PowerPoint presentations, letters, reports, requests for committee action, newsletters, brochures, signs, memos, etc. The rules in this guide provide a standard for using words, numbers and punctuation correctly, consistently and clearly. The City’s style is based on Associated Press style.

Accessibility blocks

An accessibility block is a tool for residents to request alternative communication formats. The accessibility block is used on all department materials (i.e., brochures, flyers, notices, contracts).
