Level 1 Employers host interns ages 14-15 and the wages are subsidized. The City of Minneapolis is the employer and places interns at a worksite that best matches their skills, interests and the requirements of the role. This level of the program accepts nonprofits agencies, community organizations, parks, and other public agencies.

Level 2 Employers hire interns ages 16-21, the wages are paid for by the employer. Youth are placed in internships that give them resume-building opportunities, professional experience and exposure to a variety of potential careers. Youth are placed in internships across 15 industries with private sector businesses, public agencies, and nonprofits.
