Conducting performance appraisals

This page contains calendars and deadlines for this year's processes and access to resources on how to complete self-appraisals and performance appraisals including instructions and training.

The City of Minneapolis conducts most performance appraisals in a single window of time. Most departments using PerformMinneapolis and Halogen software will complete performance appraisal activities January through March.

The deadlines for the 2021-2022 performance appraisal cycle are:

  • Self-appraisal: January 3 - March 11, 2022
  • Performance appraisal: January 3 - March 18
  • Work Expectations:January 3 - March 18, 2022

There are three steps to complete in the following order:

  1. Employee completes a self-appraisal.
  2. Supervisor completes a performance appraisal, discusses it with each employee, the employee signs off in Halogen, the supervisor signs off in Halogen.
  3. Employee enters work expectations; supervisor finalizes and employee signs off.
