The City of Minneapolis is commemorating the one-year marker of George Floyd’s murder by supporting the Floyd family foundations and community organizations in their commemoration events and creating programming focused on City employees. The I-35W & Lowry bridges, along with the Convention Center domes, will be lit red, black and green, and the City Hall bells will play the Black National Anthem and a medley of racial justice songs at noon on Tuesday, May 25.
City employee-focused activities will center on creating space for reflection, connection with one another and community, and healing from trauma.
Join with other Minneapolis employees to remember Mr. Floyd and to honor those who have lost their lives to racial injustice.
