Reason for survey

We want to make working for the City even better. You are the reason for our success, and we want to make sure we are doing the best we can to make this a workplace where you can succeed and feel valued.

The My Minneapolis Employee Engagement Survey gives you an opportunity to share your opinions about working for the City, including what makes it a desirable place to work and what improvements should be made.

Collecting your feedback in the survey helps us:

  • Gain perspective on your expectations, desires and goals.

  • Identify and make improvements.

  • Build on our strengths. 

Take the My Minneapolis Mini survey to let us know what you think about your experience working for the City. Your feedback will be used to improve our workplace and how we serve our customers. 

The survey is optional; however every person’s response counts.

Your survey submissions are confidential

Your My Minneapolis Mini survey response is completely confidential. Only aggreate data will be shared with City employees.

Perceptyx, an independent research organization, is conducting this survey on our behalf.

Perceptx will:

  • Ensure that no one at the City will be able to see individual survey responses.
  • Will compile and report responses by department, division and demographic categories.

How to take the survey

The My Minneapolis Mini survey is only available online. Take the survey online on a computer, smartphone or tablet wherever you have Internet access.

There are two ways to access the survey:

  • Look for an invitation email from Perceptyx that contains a unique link to your survey.
    Note: Please do not forward this link to anyone. The link is unique to you and can only be used once. It connects your responses to your demographic data.
  • You can take the survey online by visiting My Minneapolis on the Perceptyx site. 

Survey collection and results

My Minneapolis Mini survey results will be shared in November. Watch for information from your department.

Your feedback helps all of us drive action and change at the City and department level. Results will be shared with you.

Past surveys have resulted in changes

Past employee engagement surveys have led to several improvements Citywide, including: 

  • Establishment of educational partnerships with Augsburg College and Saint Mary’s University to offer discounted tuition rates to City employees.
  • Creation of the STAR Awards employee recognition program and Minneapolis Matters employee newsletter.
  • Establishment of an alternative work arrangements policy, which allows for a compressed workweek, flexible work hours and schedules, job sharing, gradual retirement, and more.
