Required steps to purchase a City-owned property

Step 1

Submit a liability waiver

You must attend an open house inspection before submitting an offer to purchase a City-owned property.

Before you come to the open house, you need to email a signed waiver to the Minneapolis Homes team.

Make sure to send the waiver by 1 p.m. on November 29, 2023.

Once we get your waivers, we'll send you an email to confirm that we've received them.

Email the waiver to the Minneapolis Homes team

Step 2

Visit the site

You must do a site visit on either: 

    • Thursday, November 30, 2023
    • Saturday, December 2, 2023
Step 3

Apply

Complete the application and Offer to Purchase for the appropriate type of development.

Applications are due by 4 p.m. on Tuesday, January 16, 2024.

Attend an information session (optional)

Step 1

Request an invitation to the information session

Once you have attended one of the required open house inspections, email us to request an invitation to the online information session. Each group visiting can bring a maximum of three people.
