Fellowship details

Blueprint Approved Institute (BPAI) 

The Blueprint Approved Institute (BPAI) works with community to build strong approaches to violence prevention. BPAI does this by:

  • Helping community groups develop the tools and skills they need to be effective and sustainable.
  • Yearly, select a number of agencies to participate in a training cohort to carry out a violence prevention program in their community. 

2022 BPAI Fellowship goals

The fellowship goals are to ensure that local agencies are equipped to meet the needs of their communities. The Office of Violence Prevention runs the City of Minneapolis BPAI fellowship.

The focus areas include:

  • Budgeting
  • Grant writing and fundraising
  • Program evaluation
  • Facilitation
  • Communication and marketing
  • Community engagement

Eligibility requirements

  • Agency is not a past participant in BPAI
  • Operating budget of less than $100,000 per year
  • Violence prevention is a focus of your work
  • You require capacity-building training to meet community needs
  • Agency serves Minneapolis residents at greatest risk of violence

How it works

Selected agencies will:

  • Have one or two individuals participate
  • Attend training sessions
  • Participate in capacity-building sessions
  • Receive up to $6,000 for this work

Fellowship dates

February 2022 through end of September 2022.
