Clean City Classroom

2020 Waste in Place Educator Training has been postponed until further notice.

The classroom is a powerful place to shape the citizens of tomorrow.  Clean City Classroom provides Keep America Beautiful’s Waste in Place activity kits to interested educators.

Keep America Beautiful’s Waste in Place activity kits teach the fundamentals of litter prevention, waste prevention, recycling, composting, waste-to-energy, and landfills.  By understanding what happens to our waste and how to prevent waste in the first place, students can build environmental knowledge, foster stewardship and take pride in keeping their community clean.

What is expected of educators that receive Waste in Place Activity Kits provided by the City?

Minneapolis Solid Waste & Recycling wants to know what you thought about the Waste in Place activities.  In order for us to continue to provide these kits to educators, we need to know what worked for your students, what didn’t, and any recommendations you may have on how to improve the Waste in Place kit.  We would like you to help us improve the resources for future educators and may ask you to meet with us informally during the school year.
