About Us
Regulatory Services is responsible for Animal Care & Control, Fire Inspections Services, Housing Inspections Services, and Traffic Control.
- Animal Care & Control works with residents to create safe and healthy communities for people and animals.
- Fire Inspections Services' mission is to help reduce the negative impact from fire and other related emergencies through community education, focused hazard mitigation, and code enforcement. They work with commercial properties and residential properties with four or more units.
- Housing Inspections Services is responsible for rental licensing, nuisance condition abatement, and enforcement of the Housing Maintenance Code. Their focus is on residential properties with three or fewer units.
- Traffic Control provides a number of services to residents and visitors to Minneapolis, including rush hour traffic management, support for special events, removal of illegally parked and abandoned vehicles, and emergency response.

Data and Reports
The Department of Regulatory Services is committed to providing data and reports for the City of Minneapolis. In addition to the interactive mapping applications we also have published reports, ward and neighborhood profiles and more. It is our goal to use metrics and data to make informed decisions and help direct the work we do.
