Conditional job offers may be offered to a Minneapolis Police Recruit Officer or Community Service Officer
- The condition of this job offer is that you participate and pass Minneapolis Police Department (MPD) drug and alcohol tests, medical and psychological examinations.
- You will be notified by the MPD Health and Wellness Program of the dates, times, and locations of these pre-employment exams.

The Medical Exam consists of the following
- Questionnaire
- Height and weight
- Complete vital signs
- Resting EKG
- Audiogram
- Vision testing
- Pulmonary function test
- Venipuncture
- Mantoux (Tuberculosis screen)
- Back and flexibility evaluation
- Cardiopulmonary stress test
- Stress EKG with VO2 Max test
- Medical examination
Do not consume any food or drink 3 hours prior to your appointment (water is ok). This exam takes about 3 hours. You must return to receive your Mantoux reading seventy-two hours following your appointment.
For the Stress EKG with VO2 Max exam bring appropriate work-out attire. Changing rooms are provided, but no showers are available
Psychological exam
The psychological exam consists of a written personality assessment(s) and an interview with a licensed psychologist/psychiatrist.
Note:
We recommend that you do not give formal written notice your current employer until you are notified that you successfully passed all of the above requirements and have received a FINAL job offer from the City of Minneapolis.
