Historical Records and Property History

Minneapolis Development Review Kiosk

Minneapolis Development Review offers a new way of looking up historical records. A kiosk in the lobby of Minneapolis Development Review allows people to do historical research of property records. Available records include, soil and piling reports, Certificates of Occupancy from 1990 to the present, Oil Burner Permits, building and remodeling permits from 1884 to the present and Permit Index Cards from 1884 to 1989.

Also available are 1934 Land Survey records. The 1934 Land Surveys defines the use of a specific building at that point in time and provides information regarding occupancy or status of the building.

There are also links to the City of Minneapolis Property Information website for property tax information and property ownership records.

The kiosk is available to the public during Service Center Hours listed to the left.

City of Minneapolis Property Information

The City of Minneapolis Property Information website allows you to access public record information on taxpayers/owners, sales history and assessed value history. You can also access permits issued information and permit inspection histories.

Lot Surveys No Longer Available at Public Service Center

Historic Minneapolis

These colorful maps are a great resource for anyone doing historical research on Minneapolis properties and structures.

Please call at least one day ahead of time to make an appointment if you have a reference question or a research project.  612-543-8200 or [email protected]
