About us

Minneapolis is a dynamic city and an equally dynamic place to work. Over 4,000 talented people are employed at the City in a variety of departments including Animal Care and Control, Civil Rights, Elections & Voter Services, Fire, Police, Public Works, Traffic Control and more. Our City services are supported by dedicated and talented professionals in Communications, Finance & Property Services, Information Technology, Human Resources and administration roles.
Employees work in support of the City's goals and strategic direction. Leadership at the City includes elected officials Mayor Jacob Frey and 13 City Council members, reinforced by an experienced group of department heads.
