Station 11 History 

Minneapolis Fire Station 11

Built in 1873 to house Cataract Engine #1 at 28 2nd Street Southeast. Originally opened as Station C with Hose C and Steamer Cataract on July 1, 1879. January 12, 1891 the department was reorganized and Station C became Station 11. In 1885 a two-story brick addition was added. The station was closed in 1962 when new Station 11 opened at its present location of 229 6th street Southeast with Engine 11, Ladder 9, and Engine 9. An addition was added sometime in the 1970's.
