Long Range Planning: Public Art

Public Art contributes to the City's vibrancy and livability of public places attracts visitors as well. An Artwork can build pride in community, celebrate cultural heritage, and inspire discussion about issues affecting quality of life and future aspirations. The process of developing public artworks builds the capacity of artists and community leaders to shape City spaces and neighborhoods.

For over 30 years, the City of Minneapolis has enriched the lives of citizens and visitors by integrating public art into city planning, service design, and infrastructure. The City’s Public Art Program features:
