The Labor Standards Enforcement Division’s data portal offers real time transparency and accountability. Dashboard Descriptions:

1 Inquiries are emails and phone calls received by the Department to clarify legal requirements and troubleshoot. Department staff provides free consultations to the public, without legal risk. Wishes to remain anonymous are respected..

2 Types of Allegations categorizes all Reports of Violations (the initial stage of an investigation) filed with the Department.

3 Investigations Active captures and counts currently ongoing matters (i.e. unresolved Reports of Violation).

4 Investigations Closed tallies all resolutions and categorizes outcomes. Settlements indicate that an employer agreed to take corrective, remedial action as the result of a Report of Violation and ensuing investigation.

5 Monitoring requires verification that settlement terms or compliance orders are followed faithfully and fully.

6 Monetary Remedies are compensation for employees to cure past harm. Penalties awarded the department deter future violations. All money awarded to date is displayed.

7 Employees Affected counts all employees benefited by all enforcement actions to date.


City Council Reports

The Minneapolis City Council directs the Civil Rights Department, together with other affected departments, to report quarterly to the City Council on progress related to implementation of the Sick and Safe Time Ordinance.
