Blaisdell Avenue South Bikeway
26th St W to 29th St W
In 2019, the Minneapolis Public Works Department plans to convert a standard bike lane into a protected bikeway on Blaisdell Ave from Franklin Ave to 29th St W. This project will connect to an existing protected bikeway south of 29th St W, as well as to a westbound protected bikeway on 26th St W and an eastbound protected bikeway on 28th St W.

Project Goals
The goals of this bikeway project include:
- Enhance comfort and predictability of all users
- Support existing and future bicycle demand
- Improve bicycle network connectivity
- Provide bicycle access to destinations
Project Schedule
July - October 2018: Public Works will collect corridor data and initiate a community engagement process.
November - December 2018: Public Works will develop a layout concept for a bikeway on the corridor.
February 2019: Public Works to provide a design recommendation.
Summer 2019: Anticipated implementation of the bikeway.
