Racial Equity Community Advisory Committee
The Racial Equity Community Advisory Committee advises the Mayor and City Council on policies, practices, budget and other matters to address racism and racial inequities and to promote racial justice and equity.
Vacancies
Seventeen Council and Mayoral appointments, Minneapolis School Board and Minneapolis Park and Recreation Board appointments for two year terms.
Seats 1 through 17: Terms beginning May 1, 2020 and ending Apr 30, 2022.
Deadline: Applications will be received until December 31, 2020.

Selection Process
Applications are forwarded from the City Clerk to the Racial Equity Community Advisory Committee. The committee is comprised of 17 voting members. At least one member from each of the 13 wards are appointed by the City Council and two members are appointed by the Mayor, with one seat available to a person appointed by the Minneapolis School Board and one by the Minneapolis Park and Recreation Board, with a priority on racial balance. Members serve two-year terms. There is a residency requirement unless waived by the City Council.
Additional Information
Meetings are held in room 319 City Hall at 6:00 p.m., unless otherwise agreed upon by the Racial Equity Community Advisory Committee membership. Meetings shall be open to the public, subject to the requirements of the Minnesota Open Meeting Law. Meeting locations are accessible to persons with disabilities.
