Minneapolis Advisory Committee on Aging
The Minneapolis Advisory Committee on Aging advises the Mayor and City Council on concerns relating to senior citizens, acts as a liaison for the senior citizen community, recommends actions to solve such concerns, and advises and suggests programs and activities of value to senior citizens for the City of Minneapolis.
Vacancies
- Seats 1, 3, 6 - 8, 10, 12, 14 and 17: Terms beginning January 1, 2021 and ending December 31, 2022.
- Seats 4 and 5: Two-year term beginning January 1, 2020 and ending December 31, 2021.
* Seats 14 and 17 are member at large appointed by Mayor & Council President

Selection Process
Applications are forwarded from the City Clerk to the Committee staff. Committee staff forward to the Mayor, and City Council President staff for their consideration. Applications are reviewed by the Public Health, Environment, Civil Rights & Engagement Committee for recommendation to the full City Council.
Additional Information
Meetings are held on the 2nd Thursday of each month from 1 to 2:30 p.m. in Room 233 City Hall. Participation in at least one standing committee is required. Any member who has more than three unexcused absences in any calendar year will be replaced. Members may not serve more than three consecutive terms. There is no compensation. The Commission meeting locations are accessible to persons who are disabled. Committee members must be Minneapolis residents age 50 or older.
