Bicycle Advisory Committee Resolution

To:         Minneapolis City Council, Minneapolis Public Works

From:     Minneapolis Bicycle Advisory Committee

Date:      June 26, 2019

Subject:  46th St Transportation Study

46th St. Transportation Study

The Minneapolis Bicycle Advisory Committee supports the 2-lane section with a bike facility on 46th St and opposes a 4-lane section, particularly given the city and county’s commitment to Complete streets and Vision Zero, and towards zero deaths. 4 lane roads have been shown to be more dangerous than 2 or 3 lane roads and traffic counts do not warrant retention of dangerous 4 lane roads on 46th St.
